What I do: My role involves steering Ramblers Cymru to deliver high quality projects and reach a wider audience. I want us to be relevant to everyone in Wales, wherever they are. Iensure we maintain a high profile and a strong voice with Welsh Government and partners in Wales.
About me: I have over 20 years experience in the voluntary sector, including community engagement in both the rural and urban environment context. My previous roles cover environmental education, fundraising, project development and management, countryside management and walk leading. I am from South Wales and have a real passion to see the people of Wales have every opportunity to flourish in a sustainable way whilst meeting the needs of the people and the environment.
Rebecca Brough Policy and Advocacy Manager At Ramblers since: March 2014 Working hours: Full time Welsh speaker: Learning What I do: I make sure that politicians and public bodies in Wales hear about Ramblers views and use our passion and knowledge of the outdoors to influence their decision-making. This involves meeting politicians, responding to consultations, writing briefings and monitoring policy developments. I also help Ramblers members influence their local politicians by supporting them with information on current policy and research. At present, my priority is building relationships with Assembly members and the new Welsh Government cabinet following the 2016 Assembly elections, and promoting the improvements to access we called for in the Ramblers Cymru's manifesto.
About me: I have a background in policy influencing work in the governmental, charity and statutory sectors. With my degrees in Geography and Tourism and Environmental management, the Ramblers mission is one I feel passionate about. I live by the coast and regularly walk sections of Wales Coast Path with my family and my excitable border collie, Jess.
