Meeting time 8:50,
Start time 10:15
7 miles / 11.3 km
(Estimated finish time: 15:00)
PLEASE NOTE. It is essential you contact the leader, Ms Trevis, in the week before the walk to let her know you are coming and check the travel arrangements.
This part of a plan t00walk the whole of the Jubilee Greenway in London. This first section takes us past Buckingham Palace, through Green Park, Hyde Park , Kensingon Gardens , Craven Hill Gardens and along the Grand Union canal to Little Venice. We then go via Regent’s Canal, London Zoo, Lord’s Cricket Ground to Camden Market. We will stop here for lunch and an explore before going on along the canal to St Pancras. It is a level walk on paths and pavements. There are plenty of cafes and toilets and it is possible to leave this walk at numerous points if you wish.
You will need to get a travel card or a ticket that allows you to travel into VIctoria and back from St Pancras. I would advise a travel card which is slightly more expensive but does give the option of using a tube or bus to get to the start point if necessary. I am not organising any group tickets as I feel this gives everyone maximum flexibility. There are no trains between Brighton and Victoria so the plan is to catch 9.12 train from Brighton ( the Cambridge train) and change at Haywards Heath at 9:42 for a train to VIctoria. ( This train comes direct from Hove at 9.20 ) I We will meet at Brighton Station ready to go at 9am. As trains are very unpredictable at the moment, you are advised to ensure the leader has your mobile number in case of changes. If we miss each other on the train, please text the leader and meet by the toilets on Victoria Station.
We will be stopping for coffee and a light lunch but it is suggested you bring a snack and water.
You must not attend this walk if you develop any of the symptoms of Coronovirus or come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for Coronovirus.
