Walking group

Affiliated clubs: What does it mean?

Since 1935 we've worked to protect and expand the places people walk, preserve the beauty of the countryside for walkers and increase the opportunities for walking in both towns and rural areas. By affiliating with us, your club or society will not only be entitled to a range of useful benefits, you'll also be supporting our work on behalf of all walkers in Britain.

Benefits of affiliation

  • The opportunity to purchase Howden's civil liability insurance at a specially negotiated price, available only to affiliates of the Ramblers
  • A free subscription to the quarterly Ramblers magazine Walk (RRP £3.60 per issue)
  • Opportunities to help shape local Ramblers policy
  • An invitation to your members to participate in Ramblers walking festivals

What you can do for us

By affiliating with the Ramblers you're agreeing to support our charitable objectives and we would encourage you and your members to spread the word about the valuable work we undertake as a charity to other walkers, family and friends.

As walkers themselves, your members will benefit from our footpath and access campaigns, so very occasionally we may ask your club or society to help us by writing to your local council or distributing information about us.

How much it costs

Affiliation costs £65.50 a year and is valid for one year from the date of joining.

Application process

Please complete the application form and return it along with payment to The Ramblers, 2nd Floor, Camelford House, 87–90 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TW.
