During 2019, we’ll be on the road offering free training to experienced walk leader volunteers who would like to mentor newer leaders.
So far we've trained more than 300 walk leaders across Scotland as part of our popular, sportscotland-funded Walk Leadership Project.
In addition to continuing to run more of these courses throughout 2019, we also want to identify and develop experienced mentors to offer our new walk leaders all the support we can as they start out on their volunteer journey with Ramblers Scotland.
How to become a mentor:
We're offering a one-day course to give you all you need to be a great mentor who can support and encourage new volunteers to grow in confidence.
You'll have the chance to brush up on some of the basic skills needed for mentoring and share any current experiences of buddying with other walk leaders on the course.
You'll also learn about the Ramblers Walk Leadership Mark, which will be given to everyone who completes walk leader training.
We’d love for you to be part of our growing work to invest in our volunteers and support our led walks.

If you can’t get to any of these courses, please drop us an email to see if we can come out to you and your group.
