Date : 16 March 2018
Time : 19:45 to 23:00
Location : Bournbrook and Selly Oak Social Club (SP045828)
Organiser: Black Country Young Walkers
Doors open at 7:30pm. Cost £5 per person, just pay on the door. Dancing starts at 8pm in the upstairs function room which has a bar where you can purchase drinks.
A Ceilidh (pronounced "Kay-lay"), to be enjoyed by all dancing to recorded music. You don't have to be Scottish and you don’t need to know what to do; a caller will explain the dances and there will be lots of friendly folk to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing. Note this event does require close physical contact with strangers as the dances involve swapping partners, holding hands, etc.
Whilst coming in a kilt or tartan is encouraged you are free to wear anything suitable; expect to see people wearing jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between. If you want some idea of what to expect you can see some Ceilidh action at: https://youtu.be/DlSLsN7rojw
There will be people attending from other social groups, meetup groups and rambling groups.
