Date : 24 July 2021
Time : 10:00 to 17:00
Location : The Red Lion (SP112745)
Organiser: Black Country Young Walkers
This is 30 mile cycle from Earlswood along road, Stratford Upon Avon canal to Wootton Wawen, thence minor and some major road back to Earlswood.
We will stop at one cafe and one pub, where hopefully refreshment may be obtained. However, sufficient water and food should be carried for a whole day activity
Bikes should be either mountain bike or hybrid bike, road bikes are not suitable for the canal towpath. It is advisable that riders wear a helmet, glasses, gloves and a light long sleeved top. The nettles along part of the canal are very tall and can brush the body. You should also carry at least one inner tube, preferably two and puncture repair kit.
You should be comfortable riding 25 miles on roads, though we will travel at a leisurely pace.
We will be traveling in small groups, one host to each group.
We will only ride if the weather is dry and has been for a few days prior, canal towpath is muddy in places. Follow the Meetup event page for updates and check the event is still going ahead.
Please arrive at 09:45 for a 10:00 start.
Start Location: Red Lion, Lady Lane, Earlswood, Solihull B94 6AQ.
