Our Coach Ramble this year is to Grassington

Pocklington Ramblers Group are subsidising the coach trip for our members. The following charges will apply:

 

£10.00 to Pocklington Members for the Coachand

£14.00 for others.

 

For the benefit of new members and those who have never been on a coach ramble, we hire a coach for the day and travel to a part of the country we do not walk in every week. There are normally three walks of varying distances, with an option to eat before we travel home. It is a very social occasion and a great day out.

 

The outline plan for our Coach Ramble is as follows:

The coach will leave Beverley at 8.00am from Morrisons Victoria Road Beverley HU17 8PJ then 08:15 Giant Bradley Statue York Road Market Weighton then 08:30 Pocklington Bus Station then finally at 08:40: Dunnington Layby on A1079. We will be arriving at Grassington by 10.30

There will be a choice of walks in the area. Details are still being formulated, but normally we offer a five mile, eight or nine mile walk and a walk of about 11 miles. If you can help by leading a walk please contact me as soon as possible.

We will offer an optional meal at the Devonshire Arms in the centre of Grassington

We expect to return to Beverley, the last stop, by 9.30pm at the latest

We have made a block booking to eat at the  Devonshire Arms Grassington.  The meal is planned for 5.30pm and the menu for us is detailed below: It will cost £20 for two coursesI

 

 

Starter

 

1.Soup of the Day, whipped honey butter and crusty bread (V) 

 

2. Deep fried crispy brie served with a deconstructed waldorf salad (V) 

 

3. Haddock croquettes served with confit garlic aioli and salad 

 

Mains 

 

4 Beer battered haddock and chips served with a crushed pea puree, tartar sauce, burnt lemon and pomegranate pearls

 

5. Classic cured ham, free range egg and chips

 

6. Sausage stuffed chicken roulade served with a brie stuffed croquette, tarragon sauce and crispy kale 

 

7. Pea risotto, parmesan crisp and spinach (V)

 

Desserts

 

8. Orange creme brulee served with shortbread 

 

9. Clotted cream and strawberry pavlova 

 

10. Warm triple chocolate brownie served with chocolate sauce and ice cream
