Saturday, 26 September 2020 (Group: Tiger Bay Ramblers)
Start time 10:30
6 miles / 9.7 km
(Estimated finish time: 14:45)
New Walkers Welcome! This walk is especially designed for potential or new walkers to the Group who may prefer to begin with shorter easier walks, although EVERYONE is welcome.
Starting from the Wales Millenium Centre this walk will pass several iconic Cardiff landmarks including the Pierhead Building, the Norwegian Church, and the Senedd before crossing the barrage and walking up a short steep hill into Penarth. We will pause briefly at St Augustine’s church for spectacular views back across Cardiff Bay and City before continuing down to the Penarth seafront and Pavilion where we may stop for refreshments, before heading for home.
The walk will take place on good quality surfaces and pavement and is mostly flat with the exception of a short hill up to St Augustine’s Church and down to Penarth pier (reversed on the return journey).
This will be a moderate paced walk with plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the coastal views and take photographs.
PLEASE NOTE: The meeting point for this walk is at the walk start point in Cardiff Bay; the walk leader will meet you there.
Due to COVID-19, we all need to take extra steps to stay safe. Please follow all safety advice given by the walk leader, including the latest guidelines on physical distancing.
