A walk through Historic and beautiful countryside.
Starting at the layBy we cross over the Rd to Shallcross to climb up a few fields.
We then head down to Cadster Hamlet to descend to and cross the Whaley / Chapel Rd and up to Ollerenshaw Farm. then for a short distance up to Eccles Rd to turn off for a convenient place for Coffee.
We continue to a lane to descend and turn to a steep climb up to Eccles Pike with fabulous views.
Afterwards to Eccles Rd, then after a short way turn off right to Lidgate, crossing fields down to Bradshaw Hall. A superb old building. Judge Bradshaw is famous for being the first to sign Charles 1st. 'Death Warrant': lived here. The family owned lands and farms in Marple and three farms near to Rowarth.
From here we descend a lane, cross fields and a golf course to Tunstead Milton
walking alongside Combs Reservoir up to Tunstead Fm to turn left / S.E. and ascend along aiming for Squire Hollins then up a lane to join and ascend to Long Lane then to Wythen Lache (meaning, Willow Tree lake)
We continue along the route of the former Roman Rd from Buxton to Whaley Bridge. When we reach White Hall Outdoor Pursuits Centre, we turn right / East and over to Long Hill, Buxton Rd. We cross this to descend to Bunsal Cob.
Crossing Errwood Rsv dam to walk on the East side of Fernilee Rsv to cross the dam head. We continue Nth along side the River Goyt and Shallcross Wood to the Taxal LayBye.
