We will meet at Bowden Bridge car park. You should find roadside parking.
The route goes over Kinder Bridge and Tunstead Bridge, then follows a good track to Coldwell Cough Farm. There is a gargoyle on top of the roof of the farm, which is believed to be a monkey; placed there to ward off evil spirits. We carry on past South Head Farm and then the path takes us past small woodland copses, fields and over a couple of streams where we will have to splash through the water. It shouldn’t be deep or slippery. Eventually we will get back to Tunstead and a stroll down the road takes us back to Bowden Bridge. Come prepared for mud!
I had intended to go to the Sportsman for lunch, but it is closed for holidays. Instead I’ve booked The Royal, where there is a car park.

Let us hope the rain and storms have disappeared – as we go up high on this walk! From the car park we go along the Edale road to Kilihill Bridge [so if you are road parking you may bear this in mind] and make our way up to Win Hill. From here my favourite ridge walk towards Edale, and down to Jaggers Clough and Nether Booth. We then have half a mile on the road before ascending to Back Tor and Lose Hill. Yes – afraid so – after lunch! Not for the faint hearted! Back down to the Losehill House road and back into Hope. Total 12 miles from car park, ascending 2000 plus feet.
