Start time: 10:30
Moderate 9 miles / 14.5 km
Meet EYNSFORD station, Kent, 10.30 (Blackfriars 9.42, Peckham Rye 9.55: or Victoria 9.52, Bromley South 10.09, changing at Swanley).
A circular walk of 8.5 miles exploring the Darent valley between Eynsford and Shoreham from the vantage points of the valley sides. Two hills as we climb from the river but otherwise easy walking. Pub lunch at Shoreham.
Late note: I've been asked about the route as the above is a bit vague, so - we go along the Austin Lodge valley to Austin Spring, up to Dunstall Farm and down into Shoreham with lunch at The Crown. Return is along the Darent Valley Path to the Lullingston Visitor Centre, then up through Lullingston Park and back along the valley side to Eynsford.

General notes on Blackheath Walks
Starting times: Leaders do their best to adhere to the train times published in the programme. However, the National Rail internet timetable predicts only about 12 weeks ahead (28 January at time of going to press), and there is often engineering work at weekends which may cause major changes to departure / arrival times.
So please, even if travelling by car:
Before travelling, check train times with TfL (0343 222 1234; www.tfl.gov.uk) or National Rail (0345 748 4950); www.nationalrail.co.uk).
When a choice of routes is given (marked ‘or’ in the programme), use the less affected, and if in doubt check with the leader.
Lunch: Lunch is generally about one hour (or as considered appropriate by the leader on the day) at a pub; for those who prefer, leaders will usually also be able to suggest a suitable area nearby for eating packed lunches.
Safety: Please be aware that you take part in all Ramblers’ walks at your own risk.
Dogs: Some walks are unsuitable for dogs; please check with the leader before bringing one.
'Strenuous' walks: any Blackheath walk over 12 miles is categorised as Strenuous, as these walks are ‘brisk’ by general standards. Please contact the walk leader if you have any queries about the walk.
