This is a circular walk
If you like hills and valleys, and rivers and canals, then this is the walk for you. Starting at Crickhowell, we follow the Beacons Way to Cwmdu and then on to Bwlch, where we may visit the pub. We then cross the River Usk by the historic Llangynidr Bridge and walk along the banks of the Usk (if it is not in flood) and briefly along the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, before joining the Usk Valley Walk through fields and woods back to Crickhowell Bridge. As hill walks go, this is not an especially difficult walk, but is still quite challenging. Approximately 3,000 feet of ascent.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.
You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
