Start time: 13:00
(Estimated finish time: 17:45)
Moderate 8.5 miles / 13.7 km
I led this walk last year & advertised it as being dog friendly. I liked it so much I'm leading it again this year. Although it's a good 8.5 miles it is mostly easy walking & the last half is along canal & river so totally flat,
So bring your dog on a short lead please. We only cross two small fields with three stiles. Our dog tackled the stiles with ease & there were horses in the field that totally ignored us
We start from Saltaire & head up the only real climb to Shipley Glen with wonderful views across the valley, We then head towards Eldwick & then cut across to have our lunch stop at Bingley 5 Rise Locks. A chance to use the cafe. Return via the canal & river to Saltaire. probably finish with a drink at The Boathouse Inn. I don't think they allow dogs inside but there is outside seating
please have a read of The Ramblers own guidance on bringing dogs on walks including the link to the " dog walking code"
You can come on the walk without a dog !
