Moderate 10.5 miles / 16.9 km
Join us as we climb two of Surrey's most famous hills and explore the woods and paths around Holmbury St. Mary and Friday Street.
The walk will start at the Friday Street car park and will begin by heading across Abinger Common towards Holmbury St. Mary. From there we will enter the Hurt Wood and climb up towards Holmbury Hill. Once we reach the top we will stop for lunch and (hopefully) enjoy some great views towards the South Downs. In the afternoon we will continue along the Greensand Way, descending back to Holmbury St. Mary before gradually climbing up to Leith Hill and its magnificant tower. Following that we will visit the village of Coldharbour and its pub before beginning the final leg of the walk. This will pass by Crockers Farm and Tankard Pond before heading West and returning to Friday Street.
Please bring a packed lunch as we will not be stopping at the pub for food. Also be aware that the final junction before the car park is very sharp and quite easy to overshoot.
Friday Street Car Park, just before the Mill Pond.
