Crouch Valley Trail: Battlesbridge to North Fambridge

The ‘Crouch Valley Trail’ stretches 40 miles from the Rayleigh Windmill to the Clock Tower in Burnham-on-Crouch. The second stage of the trail of 12 miles from Battlesbridge to North Fambridge features the lovely rolling hills of the Crouch valley north of the river with panoramic views for much of the journey. Please bring a packed picnic lunch and we will be stopping at the ‘Prince of Wales’ in Stow Maries for a refreshing drink in the afternoon. This is a linear walk and a train journey of 10 minutes starts the proceedings. £3.70 fare will get us to Battlesbridge to commence the walk. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Any people using public transport can meet us at Battlesbridge Station at 10.25am if this makes things easier
Dogs are permitted on our walks at the leader's discretion. However they must be well behaved and kept on a lead.Please read the Ramblers dog walking code on the Ramblers website.
Be prepared ! Ensure that you wear walking boots/shoes, trainers can be worn in summer months. Clothing suitable for the weather conditions must be worn. Bring drinking water and food with you, if you're unsure what else to bring please ask.
