Moderate 9 miles / 14.5 km
From wilderness to civilisation and back again. We will start at Blackheath, follow the Downs Link to Chinthurst Hill and tower (steep climb), pass Bramley on the Wey South Path and return via Shamley Green to Blackheath. Mud is unlikely, but nettles and brambles abound.
Please bring a picnic lunch.
Blackheath Car Park. Coming from the A25 on the A248, look for the station sign on the left marking Chilworth Station and turn left here into a narrow road over a level crossing, signposted Blackheath. Follow the road for just over 0.5 miles to the crossroads. Turn left and go to the end of the road where there is a car park.
This is a circular walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
