C WALK - Leader: Lin - 7 miles
Route: We take the same route as the Short C up to the Ridge then we turn right before the farm buildings. Walk a short distance and eventually through the wood into Leighfield CP, continue walking until we get to Lerigh Lodge with fish ponds, From here we turn left and carry on down to Belton. We have a choice of either taking the footpath and pass College Farm and Brickle Farm before joining Leicestershire Round or come down the bridle way where it is muddy.
SHORT C - Hilda - 5 miles
Route: Starting from the layby, we walk up to the village of Belton, from there we follow Leighfiled Way on a nice solid underfoot lane. A gradual climb up to the ridge of 175 feet. Once we get to the ridge, it is a flat and comfortable walk about a mile then we turn down back to Belton. Conditions here are very muddy as we walk past a few horse farms, along a bridal way where the path is being trotted on by horses. Once we are in the village, we will stop in the only pub where the landlady will serve alcoholic drinks first before serving tea or coffee. From there we make our way back to the bus with a total distance of 5 miles. If we are lucky, we might see kites in the air.
