This is a coach walk. All seats must be pre-booked. There will be four walks varying in distance from 5 to 12 miles.All coaches pick-up at County Hall bus stop 9.15am and Maid Marian Way, outside Tesco at 9.30am
This is a circular walk
A WALK - Martin Moorhouse - 12.5 miles
Route: Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt Edge (lunch and pub stop at Grouse Inn), Longshaw Estate, then following the Derwent Valley Heritage Way back to Baslow, possibly via Bridge Inn in Calver
B WALK - Leader: Margaret Crane - 9.5 miles approx.
Route: uphill start from Baslow, Lady Wall Well, Curbar Edge, Froggatt Edge onto White Edge, past Eagle Stone, Bar Road back down to Baslow.
Terrain: muddy in places and undulating, lovely views if weather good. Pub/Cafe at end of walk if time permits.
C WALK - Leader: Randy Barber - 6.75 miles
Route: We climb up to Froggatt Edge from Baslow passing Baslow Edge en route. There’s a mobile food van at the car park below the Edge where we could stop for refreshments.
Then it’s up on to the escarpment and then to White Edge before turning back south-easterly to pick up another path leading to Wellington’s Monument. From there it’s downhill all the way to Baslow.
Terrain: Some climbing involved but nothing too steep.
