Strenuous 24 miles / 38.6 km
Join us on "the finest walk in the South East", which today gives you a chance to try different grades of walk without fear of behind left behind. All groups will start from Eastbourne at the same time and walk the same first 10 miles to Exceat. This group will then continue over the White Horse and South Downs towards Lewes. Alternatively wait and join the other group to Seaford (see other walk). The main route is 24 miles, a drop-out will be available reducing to around 20-21 miles. Weather permitting on the day we will aim to offer a 27 mile "Seven Sisters Marathon" option. Check Walks Finder nearer the time. If you would like to help alternative routes please contact Andrew. Pub at the end. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of extra snacks.
Terrain: South Downs
Travel: Take 8:46 from London Victoria (8:53 Clapham Junction), arr. Eastbourne 10:14. Those dropping out will need a (cheap) extra single may be required from Glynde or Southease to Lewes.

This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
