Travel: Take either the 08:40 from Victoria arrives Margate at 10:25 or from St Pancras take the 09:09 arrives Margate at 10:39 or the 09:25 arrives at 10:59.
An 8 mile circular around Margate & the Isle of Thanet. The National Gallery currently have an exhibition of Thomas Cole entitled Eden To Empire. (All Ramblers members can obtain a 2 for 1 offer on tickets to this exhibition when showing their membership card when purchasing tickets.) Thomas Cole was one of the primary activists in the original National Parks movement in the USA. He much admired JMW Turner & the exhibition includes some of Turner's works. See some of the landscape that influenced Turner on this walk. This walk is being run in conjunction with the National Gallery and hopefully will appear on other group programmes.
