This is a circular walk
Those on last year’s Stomp will know that it had been the intention to hold this year’s event in Bath. The subsequent implementation of restrictions and charging for parking in central Bristol mean that parking near Temple Meads would be difficult and expensive. We are therefore returning to the Stomp’s spiritual home with a 7.55 meeting at the Clifton end of the Suspension Bridge so that we start walking promptly at 8.00 and thus before sunrise. The route includes Abbots Leigh, Failand and Clapton-in-Gordano where we shall have lunch and the opportunity to have a drink in the Black Horse. As usual we shall return over the bridge after sunset and view this iconic landmark from the area by the Observatory. Although this is a long walk it is not difficult and B walkers and Brunel members who are happy with the distance will be very welcome to join us for this great social event.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.
You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
