Moderate 11 miles / 17.7 km
Circular from Guildford Station. A couple of extended hill climbs in the morning, but fairly level after lunch. Over Chantries Hill, then onto St Martha's Church, perched high on the downs, with fine views, before heading down to Chilworth for lunch at 'The Percy Arms' pub (or bring own food). This is also a possible drop-out point (2-hourly train or hourly bus back to Guildford). The afternoon walk crosses some sandy heathland and then follows the River Wey back into Guildford. Train from Waterloo at 09:15, calling at Clapham Junction at 09:22 and arriving at Guildford at 09:51. Check trains the day before. Buy return ticket to Guildford.
