Moderate 8 miles / 12.9 km
Meet Warmley Station car park for 9am departure to lift share to the start of the walk.
There is a parking charge of approx £3 per day at the start of the walk. So please will passengers bring £ coins to cover this and the 10p per mile travelling expenses per person for the driver.
The plan is to walk north on the Wye Valley (Dyffryn Gwy) walking trail via Botany Bay and Bargain Wood to Llandogo. Here there is a descent by quiet road down to the A466 . We continue northwards along the riverbank footpath to Bigsweir Bridge. We cross the River Wye and then continue southwards along the Offa's Dyke path to Brockweir and finally the Old Station car park. The walk is hilly, but not unduly so, in the morning and fairly level in the afternoon; it is approximately 8 miles in length. The descent at Llandogo is fairly steep - but is not dangerous. There are five styles, but none is problematic.
Parking charges at the car park are approximately £3 per day - bring pound coins for the parking machine! However there are toilets (which may or may not be open) and also a zip wire - for which there is no charge!!
