A walk from the car ferry at Sawrey up to the beautiful Claife Heights passing Moss Eccles and Wise Een Tarns before we take the short climb up on to Latterbarrow. We will have fantastic views over Windermere and to the Coniston and Langdale Fells. We will descend to the lake shore and walk alongside it back to the ferry. There are a couple of climbs on the walk but nothing too strenuous.
Meet at Ash Landing NT car park. Leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow A590/591 to Ambleside. From Ambleside, take the road which leads to Hawkshead, Coniston and Langdale. After approx 1 mile, turn left towards Hawkshead at Clappersgate. At Hawkshead, take the road to Sawrey passing Esthwaite Water. After passing through Near and Far Sawrey the road heads downhill to lake Windermere. Ash Landing car park is on your left before you get to Ferry House at the car ferry. Postcode is LA22 0LJ. (or thereabouts) - please follow instructions above. As a national trust car park, parking will be £7.50 unless you are, or are car sharing with a National Trust member
