Moderate 6 miles / 9.7 km
We'll cut up through Lye Valley, up Old Road and up the Hill to Shotover Country Park, then through the woods, down the other side, into Horspath, and follow Horspath Road back into Oxford. This will potentially be quite muddy in places, so walking boots are recommended. We can finish up with a drink in the Marsh Harrier, and potentially lunch there or at one of the other pubs on Cowley Road. Pub stop at end.
Oxford, outside The Marsh Harrier, Marsh Road. Parking on the single yellow lines on Marsh Road isn't restricted on Sundays. There's also some street parking on the surrounding roads. The No 5 bus from Oxford city centre stops near the end of Marsh Road
This is a circular walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
