This is a circular walk
We celebrate Easter Day with a glorious walk on and around the northern section of the Malverns. We set out from Great Malvern and the steepest climb of the day leads to the summit of North Hill. The route then traverses Table Hill and Sugarloaf Hill before reaching Worcestershire Beacon, the highest point of the ridge. An easy descent to the Wyche Gap ensues and this is followed by attractive walking on the lower ground to the west of the ridge. We have a pub stop at the Malvern Hills Hotel before climbing on to the ridge to the north. This undulates before we descend through woodland to the east. Malvern Common is crossed before the final and shortest ascent leads us to a path to St Ann’s Well where you will learn about the joys of Victorian health resorts and a local scandal. On our return to Great Malvern, you will have the opportunity to visit the Priory.
A good standard of fitness will enhance your enjoyment of this walk but it will present no problems to regular A walkers.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.
You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
