This is a circular walk
The walk starts from the car park above the visitors centre at Llandegfedd Reservoir. In the morning we follow a trail that circles the very attractive reservoir/lake. It is an area renowned for the bluebell woods (should be good at this time of year) and the wildlife. Lunch and the pub stop are in Coed-y-paen. After lunch we head south along little used paths, with some lovely views over the attractive and deserted countryside. Our tea stop is in a particularly interesting geological area called the Usk Inliner. We will all be able to find fossils in the rocks which are between 420 and 440 million years old, to remind us of the day and the area! From this point we head north through fields and woodland back to the reservoir.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.
You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
