Join the CYW for a stunning circular walk from Princes Risborough Railway Station with guaranteed spectacular views and quaint picturesque villages.
Initially from Princes Risborough Railway Station we head to the quaint villages of Saunderton and then Horsenden before continuing onto Bledlow Village which has featured many times in the Midsomer Murders TV Drama. Here we have an option for a rest stop at The Lions of Bledlow Pub.
From Bledlow we pick up the Midshires Way and follow this until we reach the village of Chinnor. Here we begin an epic climb up the aptly named "Heart Attack Hill" aka Chinnor hill. Although the climb is tough, the views we will be rewarded with are spectacular, and on a clear day the views are extensive across Oxfordshire. We will stop for lunch here to admire the beautiful scenery that the Chilterns has to offer.
Note: Please bring a packed lunch
After lunch we continue along a bridleway which leads us to Hempton Wainhill, from here we pick up the Ridgeway National Trail and begin the second climb of the walk up and over Lodge Hill. Lodge Hill also rewards us with stunning views across the surrounding countryside.
Descending Lodge Hill the route takes us through Princes Risborough Golf Course on our return to the train station.
