Starting at Tring Railway Station the route initially takes us along The Grand Union Canal to Cow Roast Lock. From here we continue to Norcott Court and up Norcott Hill where we pick up the Icknield Way National Trail that leads us into the beautiful Ashridge Estate. We continue through Ashridge Estate until we reach Bridgewater Monument and the National Trust Visitor Centre / Brownlow Café.
We will stop here for lunch, please either bring a packed lunch or money to purchase food from the Brownlow Café; but please note the café can be busy at peak times.
Leaving Ashridge Estate we continue onto the pretty village of Aldbury, home to a beautiful duck pond and medieval whipping post!
From Aldbury we return to Tring Railway Station via the Hertfordshire Way National Trail.
