This morning we start walking at 10:30 and explore the area around the village of The Lee including Lee Clump, Lee common and Lee Gate, star of TV's Midsomer Murders. We'll head towards the valley of Wendover Dean, with views to be shortly interrupted by a 54m high viaduct carrying HS2! This could be your last chance to admire this view before it is changed forever. After heading into the valley we'll head back uphill to the Lee and to the Cock and Rabbit for an Italian meal after the walk (or bring a packed lunch to eat on the green).
To reserve your place at the pub for lunch, please contact the leader, Paul. We'll pre-order at the beginning of the walk.
The Lee village green, park considerately. If you are eating lunch at the pub you may park in their car park.

The Cock and Rabbit stars as the Rose and Chalice in episodes of Midsomer Murders.
To see how HS2 will obliviate the view across Wendover Dean look at the HS2 Comunity Engagement document. The viaduct's design has been called “grotesque” and “Stalinist” by locals.
