Join us for a walk that takes in both of the Clandons, along with parts of the North Downs Way and a few bridges. The walk begins at Clandon Station and heads towards West Clandon village before heading gradually uphill where we will meet up with the North Downs Way. The walk then follows the North Downs Way until we come to a viewpoint where we will have lunch. In the afternoon the walk leads North and enters Effingham Forest where Lord Lovelace built a series of bridges to help with forestry. As an aside; Lord Lovelace was the husband of Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer, who in turn was the daughter of Lord Byron.
After having a look at a few of these bridges we will return to open countryside and head downhill toward the village of East Clandon where we will stop at the pub for a drink. Once we are refreshed the walk will cross Clandon Regis golf course before returning to West Clandon and Clandon station.
Please bring a packed lunch as the pub stop will be for drinks only.
