Moderate 8 miles / 12.9 km
This walk gives an opportunity to look towards some of Abergavenny's greatest walking challenges and views albeit from the English side but without quite so much effort required. This walk starts in the pretty village of Pandy, (on the edge of the Hereford to Abergavenny road) providing an immediate but gradual ascent up through farmland and a narrow road, before then heading across towards the pretty village of Llangattock Lingoed, again through a mix of terrain.
There will be a brief stop near the village pub to eat lunch, with the option to grab a quick hot or cold drink from the pub to accompany your own packed lunch.
From there we make our way back towards Pandy via the Offas Dyke path. This showcases some eclectic views whilst walking through mainly grassland fields. If you do want to bring a dog please be aware there are some styles during the walk, and some may require a 'tag team' effort to assist getting a dog over successfully. Please note any dogs must also be on leads as we are now well into the lambing season. Finally we will finish at a local watering hole near our start point in Pandy.
Please note I will not be at the initial earlier meet point in Pontcanna where any car shares should aim to leave at 9.30am to arrive in Pandy for 10.30am.
