Park at Maidensgrove Common SU718887, nearest postcode RG9 6HN for taxi to Marlow at 9.30.
We leave Marlow along Pound Lane before crossing the Henley Road to take a path which goes gradually uphill through woods and fields. We follow the Chiltern Way through Davenport Wood passing Davenport Wood Nature Reserve and on to Rotten Row. We go down steeply into the Hambleden Valley with fine views as we descend to the village of Hambleden with its interesting church. Having crossed the valley we ascend quite steeply at first through beech woods towards Upper Woodend Farm. At Kiln Cottage we turn left down the wooded valley leading to Stonor Park, the home of the Stonor family for over 800 years. We cross the Stonor valley then ascend again to Maidensgrove Common and our car. Bring picnic lunch. Contact leader two weeks in advance for travel arrangements.
