Another chance to enjoy a signature walk a little further afield than our normal range.
Starting from Windsor and Eton Riverside we'll take the 10:28 train to Virginia Water (arr 11:01 via Staines) and then walk along the pavement into Windsor Great Park (where toilets and a coffee kiosk can be found).
Walking around the lake in a clockwise direction we'll stop at the Cascade and ruins before crossing the bridge into the Valley Gardens. Hunting along the paths for any flowers and shrubs in bloom we'll pass by the Totem Pole and head for the Obelisk where we'll stop for our picnic. From there it's across the park to the Copper Horse and down the Long Walk through the deer park, with its view to Windsor Castle. A quick zig-zag through the town will return us to the start point.
PLEASE ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME to get to Windsor and Eton Riverside station so we can arrange tickets to catch the 10:28 train.
[OPTIONAL] For anyone looking to car share, please come via Shawford Down car park next to the railway station (ignore any road closed signs at the M3 bridge junction). The last departure must be no later than 9am.
NB. If you intend to use this option, or are able to offer a lift from Shawford, please contact the walk leader in advance. Lifts can not be guaranteed !
