Moderate 13.5 miles / 21.7 km
This may assist my campaign to retain the much-coveted DB Navigation trophy for another year, as I recced this walk a long time ago and have never added to the schedule!
We start in the pretty picturesque village of Sydling St Nic, striking westward on the Wessex Ridgeway to Maiden Newton, before following several meandering stretches of the River Frome. We stay with the river for a long southward stretch along paths and tracks, eventually crossing it near Stratton. We will then cross the A37 and begin a gentle but good long climb back to our start point. A lovely varied mix of West Dorset countryside.
In the main street of the village, near to the Greyhound pub.
