Leisurely 8 miles / 12.9 km
Whether or not you joined our Menorca holiday, which returned at midday on Saturday, this is an opportunity for an island walk not quite as far from home. Expect tracks, fields and plenty of mud. Starting from Codsall, to the North-West of Wolverhampton and to the South of the M54, this South Staffordshire area makes a good Autumn walk and with the conversation mostly in English rather than Spanish today! This is in an area of attractive countryside involving the Staffordshire Way and the Monarch's Way. To start, we head mostly north towards Brewood on the Staffordshire Way and cross the M54 to join Chillington Street and the Monarch’s Way. Eventually, we return south on the Shropshire Union Canal. After this, it is mostly west taking in Port Lane and Whitehouse Lane back into Codsall. We will seek out good tracks and footpaths all the way, and there is little chance of falling into the Balearic Sea either!
