Start time: 10:30
(Estimated finish time: 13:30)
Moderate 9 miles / 14.5 km
We traverse varied terrain through wood, field and heath, including passing through the village of Coombe Keynes. We enter the Lulworth Castle estate through one of its old historic gateways, offering super views of the castle itself. Due to some low-lying areas there are always muddy sections and especially so at this time of year.
In Spring Street, Wool (first passing the Black Bear Inn). Do not park in the pub car park. Please park considerately in Spring Street (and not actually on the grass verge as it erodes it). There is also a small free car park area in Wool just off the high street. There are no public toilets at the start point or en route.

This is a circular walk
NOTE: For those who wish to, the walk is followed firstly by a visit to the Black Bear pub for refreshments, and then a carol concert by the local group Canzonetta (of which one of our walk members is a participant) at The Church of the Holy Rood, Church Lane, Wool. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the pub and we’ll be aiming to arrive at about 2.45 for the 3pm start.
Details of the concert: https://www.canzonettadorset.com/
