Saturday 8th February - Prestwich to Salford Brewery Walk
Direct walk 8 miles 50 metres ascent
Description: We set off from Prestwich Tram stop and head through St Mary's Park and in to Prestwich Forest Park. We cross the Irwell then follow it's banks all the way to Salford Sports Village where we cross a couple of bridges on to Castle Irwell Flood Basin which is now a haven for a myriad of waterfowl. After that we head up through Peel Park and up to the Beerhouse at Middleton Locks where we'll enjoy a few of the locally brewed beers & ciders.
Walk Start: Prestwich Tram Stop at 11.00 - Journey takes approx. 15 minutes
Waypoints: St Mary's Park, Prestwich Forest Park, Salford Sprts Village, Castle Irwell, Peel Park and Middleton Locks
Please be aware that we finish the walk just outside the city centre so you may want to check out your walking route back into the city centre
