We follow paths that take us to the source of the River Meon (in a chalk pit), then continue via Upper Barnes to The South Downs Way on Tegdown Hill. We walk west to Hyden Cross and on to Mercury Park and Salt Hill. We follow the path over Small Down and Duncoombe Cottage back to East Meon.

This is a circular walk
The route is on paths, some tracks and byways (possible mud) with very short sections on sections. The descent from Small Down is on a grassy slope. Good views if it is clear.
There will be a mid-walk break. Please bring your own refreshments for the mid-walk break plus hand sanitiser
