Rachel A and Alex Neely are leading a 11 mile moderate walk with some hills.
A register will be taken for the purposes of NHS Test and Trace.
This circular walk starts in the village of Denstone on the B5031.
Passing through the church yard and through the grounds of the impressive Denstone College, we will head off to the village of Alton. On the way to Oakamoor and the former Crossing-Keeper’s Cottage, there will be panoramic views of Alton Towers and the Valley.
We will have a short stop at the ‘Chained Oak Tree’ where you will learn all about the legend, which is now the basis of ‘Hex – The Legend of the Towers’ a walkthrough dark ride experience at Alton Towers.
During the walk there will be a quick break at the Ramblers Retreat (a family run Tearoom),but please bring your own lunch and refreshments as time may be limited.
On our return back to Denstone there will be an optional pub stop or some might prefer a saunter around the well-stocked Denstone Hall Farm Shop and Café.
Pease arrive at 10:00 for a 10:15 start.
