A circular walk starting from Upwey, first heading west across farmland, before returning via Buckland Ripers, and then following the River Wey north back to Upwey.
We meet in Upwey, and head west across farmland. Although low level there are still very pleasant views. We return via the little village of Buckland Ripers, before taking lunch in a pretty secluded meadow. After lunch we follow the River Wey back to Upwey, passing through the villages of Radipole, Nottington and Broadwey, with many old buildings still remaining. We pass several old bridges and the picturesque junction of Watery Lane and Mill Street amongst other points of interest. At the end of the walk there is the option of walking around Upwey and visiting the old church and wishing well tea rooms and / or the nearby Ship Inn. The section following the River Wey is sometimes known as the “Wey Valley Walks” and there is an information sheet online.
In the village of Upwey, at the junction of Elwell Street and Church Street. On street parking. Park along Church Street to the north of the junction with Elwell Street, which has lots of space. Do not park in the Church car park on Sundays.
