Leisurely 5 miles / 8.1 km
From the church at Widford, we will walk down the hill to the River Ash, and turn left and follow the valley for about a mile and a half. We then leave the valley, and cross fields and follow a track to Hunsdon for the mid-morning stop. Then we go along the edge of the old aerodrome to the war memorial, and then turn north across fields back to Widford.
Meet in the lay-by on Ware Road (B1004) near Widford Church. There is enough parking for several cars.
This is a circular walk
In the interests of the environment, you may want to see if it is possible to arrive at the starting point by public transport. A useful link is: https://www.traveline.info

This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
