This is a circular walk
This hike sets off from the idyllic Wiltshire village of Ramsbury and absorbs some lovely rural countryside that envelops it. We head off from The Bell pub having parked up considerately in the village – we do not have permission to park in the pub – heading in a westerly direction passing Ramsbury Manor House, a 17th century grade 1 listed building. We tackle a gradual incline and then traverse over a number of byways and footpaths for the reminder of the walk, pausing for our lunch stop at a suitable spot. Although we pass Ramsbury Brewery and Distillery on route it sadly is not open on Sundays. However, for those that wish we should have the option of sampling one of their ales at the optional pub at end of the walk, other drinks available.
The terrain on much of the walk is a mixture of tarmac to begin with and then a combination of soft grass fields and well made tracks. Potentially could be muddy, especially if there has been plenty of precipitation leading up to walk but I'm hoping it should not be *too* bad as we do not really go through any woodland.

By car: Free parking available in village. The walk leader can give up to three people a lift from Reading if required. Please be prepared to wear a facemask.
