Strenuous 7.5 miles / 12.1 km
A classic ramble with magnificent views. Impressive start up the limestone gorge of Winnat's Pass on to Mam Tor where the superb views into Edale and Hope Valleys begin. Then a steady walk over Back Tor to Lose Hill before returning through the delightful villate for Hope and the gentle valley of Peakshole Water.
Parking (meters, free sometimes if they are not in use) on road to Speedwell and Treak Cliff Caverns - 800m west of Castleton towards Winnat's Pass.
This is a circular walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
