Moderate 10 miles / 16.1 km
A delightful walk along the Stour Valley then joining St Edmunds Way to Long Melford for lunch. After lunch we go on to the picturesque medieval village of Lavenham where there are two museums, tea shops etc. Return by bus back to Sudbury (£4) hourly, connecting to train via Marks Tey to London.
Lunch: Pub (Hare Inn), cafe or picnic at Melford Green.
Train: Liverpool Street 9:02; Stratford 9:09; Arr Marks Tey 9:57; (Ipswich train) change for 10:01 to Sudbury (Gainsborough Line). Buy return to Sudbury.

Get bus from Lavenham to Sudbury Railway Station for return journey.
