Meeting time: 8:00
Start time: 8:45
(Estimated finish time: 18:45)
Strenuous 19 miles / 30.6 km
From Salisbury train station we walk through Salisbury to Milford, Clarendon Palace, Pitton and Middle Winterslow, stopping for lunch at the Tally Ho in Broughton. Walkers may finish the walk here, at 14 miles, but will need to arrange transportation home (arrange in advance to call a friend?). For those continuing we take the Clarendon Way to Houghton, join the Test way and turn north to Stockbridge. At this end point and after 19 miles, walkers again need to arrange their own return transportation.
Please make sure you carry enough water and snacks for the distance, as apart form the Tally Ho in Broughton there are no shops on the way. And of course, be confident that you are fit enough to complete the 14 mile or 19 mile version of the walk, as you intend.
Meet at Andover Station 0800 to catch the 0821 train to Salisbury. Fare with Senior Rail card £6-50. Arrive at Salisbury 08-42.
