After leaving Brewery Square we cross the railway line and head for Max Gate, the house designed and lived in by Thomas Hardy. Our route to the coast is through farm and woodland and we will pass Winterbourne Came Church and the picturesque village of Sutton Poyntz. On reaching the coast we will follow the coast path and promenade into Weymouth. The train back to Dorchester runs at 48 minutes to the hour and an adult single is £3.90 or £2.55 with railcard or buying tickets as a group with Groupsave.
The Dray Horse by the Odeon Cinema/Pizza Express Brewery Square. The car parks in Dorchester now charge, the nearby Fairfield car park charges £4 for all day. There is free on street parking a short walk away in Queens Ave, Coburg Road and Edward Road.

There is the option to take after walk refreshments in the Brew House and Kitchen after the walk.
Despite our group name, we really don't care what age you are; if you like walking with a friendly, relaxed, easy going group of people, who occasionally socialize you're most welcome to join us.
