Charlestown and Limekilns

Group Strathkelvin

Caroline Logan will be leading an “Easy B” walk from Charlestown and Limekilns between Culross and Rosyth. The walk will leave at 10:00hrs from East Harbour Road, Charleston, Grid Ref NT 065 835, Postcode KY11 3EA. Parking is in the street opposite the Lime Kilns but there should be enough room to avoid parking in front of people’s houses. The walk, passing through Broomhall Estate, home of the Earl of Elgin, is mainly on footpaths with some short sections of pavement and is 14km long with an ascent of 200m. Allow 1hr from Kirkintilloch. No limit on numbers but please contact Caroline on 07758 240855 or 0141 946 9184 to book your place and let her know if you want a lift from Southbank car park, leaving at 09:00hrs. The tea break will be at Charleston Harbour, shortly after the start and there a numerous cafés for after walk refreshments.
