Group name: Windsor & District
This group is a part of Berkshire Area.
Our activities include:
Short and easy walks
We’re a small friendly group of regular walkers, who share a passion for walking. We always stop mid-way for a refreshment break. Where possible our walks end at a café or pub – a great way to get to know fellow members.
Our group organises around 10 walks each month. Most of our walks are between 4 and 6 miles, a morning’s worth of walking, with the occasional longer hike. We try to vary the days of the week for our walks so that everyone gets a chance to join us.
We have two walks that we do regularly every month:
- 2nd Thursday in the month - in Windsor Great Park where we walk around Virginia Water Lake, sometimes venturing into the Valley Gardens. It’s a lovely way of seeing the change of the seasons throughout the year and there’s a chance for refreshments in the café at the end of the walk.
- 3rd Wednesday in the month - Old Windsor and the Thames Path from Datchet to Old Windsor Lock. This is a pleasant easy walk and we call at the Windsor Farm Shop for refreshments. Recommended for new members, it’s an easy one to start with!
Details of all the walks can be found on the right. Please contact the walk leader (name and telephone number is given with the details of the walk) if you have any questions
So please come and sample our walks - you can walk 2 or 3 times with us before deciding to join the Ramblers. We are part of the Ramblers a registered charity, and were formed in 1995.
