The Ramblers have selected a shortlist of 10 nominations for Britain's Best Walking Neighbourhood. The good news is that Aberystwyth is one of the final 10. The winner will be chosen by public vote over the next few weeks (deadline June 30th 2019). The voting link is: www.ramblers.org.uk/vote .
This page will have links to all 10 finalists, and by clicking on the Aberystwyth link you will be able to view a short video and other information about Aberystwyth.
You know that we have an excellent walking neighbourhood, with the All Wales Coast Path, Plascrug Avenue, Penglais Nature Park, Pen Dinas, Constitution Hill, the Ystwyth Trail and much more. It would be wonderful for this to be recognised by Aberystwyth being the Great Britain winner. It is already the only location in Wales to be included on the shortlist. Please vote and tell your friends and neighbours.
A new trailer for the Working Party was obtained through a grant of £2,000 from the Ramblers Tools for Teams Scheme. The trailer was formally handed over to the care of Ceredigion Council by Chris Hodgson, in his role as Chair of Ramblers Cymru, at a ceremony in September 2017.
At the recent AGM of Aberystwyth Ramblers, a presentation was made to outgoing chairman Chris Hodgson in recognition of his many years of service, which will serve him well in his new role as committee chairman of Ramblers Cymru.
