Distance: 6 miles / 10km

Group size: 19

Riverside paths, woods and moorland from allt-ybere to Rhydygroes and Nant Rhyd Ifor.

On a lovely warm sunny day we started off, after our initial brief, in one of the most glorious parts of Wales.(Grid Ref SN 77294 45926).

Across the bridge over the Afon Tywi we followed the side of thew river for about a mile and then had a quick break by the bridge.

Then it was into the trees and along the river up towards Rhydygroes.

Then a bit of a slog uphill but at least the views were well worth the effort.

A quick stop at the top just to make sure that we had not left anyone along the way and then it was off to the lunch spot.

And what a view to go with the sandwiches.

Then off again on more or less level ground.

Until we got to the well made track were we turned left and started the decent.

A quick look at the damage that the winter storms have caused and then on and down.

Before we knew it we were down by the river again.

and heading back to the car park via the farm yard at Gallt-y-bere.

Another great day out. The thing that I really like about these walk is that a local expert leads you to placxes that normally you would not go to to. All in good company.

Thank you Anne and Jackie.

Till next week......
